Hulk Hogan is the greatest American wrestler ever.  Ever. Let’s go through his theme song to find out why he is today’s daily hero.  To fully appreciate today’s hero, you should follow along while listening to Hogan’s theme song here or here.

Hulk Hogan is into fighting for what’s right.  If something is wrong, like Andre the Giant tied up in the ropes, getting hit from behind by the Iron Sheik, Hulk Hogan will be there.  Friends don’t let friends get hit while being tied up in the ropes even if they are a French giant. 

When it comes crashing down, and it hurts inside,

I gotta be a man; I can’t let it slide,

It’s hard to figure out why this wasn’t the theme song for America after 9-11.  It nearly brought me to tears as a kid when I was a Hulkamaniac, and now as an adult, it still inspires.  Look at him playing guitar in a field of wheat.  Everyone gets down a little now and then, and yeah, it hurts, but you gotta me a man.

I feel strong about right and wrong,
And I don’t take trouble for very long,
I got somethin’ deep inside of me, and courage is the thing that keeps us free,

That thing deep inside he’s talking about, it’s called being heroic.  Being heroic means that even after you become Hollywood Hogan that you can come back and be regular Hulk Hogan again.  Just because you turn Heel once doesn’t mean that you can never go back to being good.  Being heroic means that sure, maybe you did ‘roids for a little bit.  Who didn’t in the early 90’s?  But you aren’t doing them now because you learned from your mistakes.  That’s what heroes do, they learn from their mistakes.

You can’t let it slide because that’s not what Hulk Hogan does.  A chump would let it slide brother.  Well let me tell you something brother, Hulk Hogan is no chump.  Hulk Hogan is a real American, and a great man, and for that he is today’s Daily Hero.
